Toutefois, la port\u00e9e de son h\u00e9ritage rend impossible une \u00e9tude exhaustive de tous les aspects de sa vie et de sa pens\u00e9e. La compr\u00e9hension que Christian de Cherg\u00e9 se fait de sa vocation monastique s\u2019enracine dans une exp\u00e9rience spirituelle et existentielle profond\u00e9ment marqu\u00e9e par la rencontre avec l\u2019islam et les musulmans.
